Is Support Surfside a 501(c)(3)?

Support Surfside is a joint initiative being led by The Coral Gables Community Foundation, The Key Biscayne Community Foundation, and The Miami Foundation. Each organization is a 501(c)(3) public charity registered with the State of Florida under the Solicitation of Contributions Act.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

All donations made to directly Support Surfside are 100% tax-deductible and no goods or services are provided in exchange for contributions. Note: contributions made to 3rd parties for the benefit of Support Surfside may not be tax-deductible.

How can I donate by check?

To make a contribution by check, please make it payable to “Coral Gables Community Foundation” with “Support Surfside” in the memo line and mail it to 1825 Ponce De Leon Boulevard, PMB #447, Coral Gables, FL 33134-4418.

How can I donate by wire or ACH transfer?

To make a donation by wire/ACH, please contact Ramiro Fernandez at rfernandez@gablesfoundation.org for instructions.

How are the dollars raised going to be used?

100% of donations collected through SupportSurfside.org will be distributed directly to the victims and their families.

Someone sent me a fundraising event email that says all proceeds are going to Support Surfside. How can I be sure that’s true?

While we are grateful for the outpouring of community support, we cannot verify that events marketed as a fundraiser are legitimate. Please exercise caution when contributing to a third-party fundraising effort and note that only donations made through SupportSurfside.org are guaranteed to be authentic. All third-party fundraisers are not being made on Support Surfside’s behalf.

I live outside of the United States and want to donate. How can I do this?

You can make a credit card donation using the Donate Now button. If you encounter any issues, contacting your bank should resolve the problem. If the issue remains, please contact us at info@SupportSurfside.org.
